Okay, I admit it – I am a recovering psychotherapist.
I became a counselor because I love helping people. I followed my dream, attended the University of Michigan School of Social Work and graduated with a Masters Degree and a strong desire to make the world a better place.
Over the course of 10 years in San Diego and 15 in Arizona, I worked with thousands of people, helping them to overcome obstacles that severely limited their lives; everything from drugs and alcohol to low self-esteem and unhealthy relationships. I was truly living my desire to help people believe in themselves and to achieve things they didn’t think were possible.
At the 25 year mark, something happened that I had not counted on – I found myself experiencing major burnout. I heard myself saying, “ I just can’t listen to one more client’s problem!” I really needed to retire, but like so many Baby Boomers, I had not saved up enough money to do it and I couldn’t. I stopped answering the phone. I felt stuck and could not see any future for myself. (It’s never a good sign when you are more depressed than your clients). Sitting on my bed feeling alone and afraid, I tearfully prayed for a solution…
My wake up call came in January 2005 – literally a phone call from an old friend.
He introduced me to a business I could run from home with a product that touched people, uplifted them, and made them feel important. And a chance to help others succeed too through the business model of network marketing that would reward me for making others successful at sharing this wonderful product. I saw hope for the first time in months and made a life changing decision – I jumped in.
With just 2 years of part time, consistent effort around my psychotherapy schedule, I had matched my counseling income and was able to retire after all from my 25 year career. Just as importantly, I was happy again, having fun and loving my life!
Were my prayers answered? – Absolutely!
To have found a business that pays me a healthy passive retirement income month after month is a miracle. To have found one that totally matches my values of making a difference for others is a dream come true.
I have now been in business for over 9 years with my company, with a team of over 5,000 distributors, and have been in the top 20 money earners for years (currently #17 out of 163,000). I say that not to brag but to show what is possible with network marketing for those who are committed to changing their lives.
Today I have a bigger goal – to coach thousands of others to success in network marketing and thus help even more people get the freedom from worry and financial stress that comes from stepping out of the “box” and becoming entrepreneurs like I did. I am passionate about empowering people who embark on entrepreneurship and specifically network marketing to a better life of financial freedom and security for themselves and their families.
Because of my counseling and psychology background, I have the skills to see what stops people from believing in themselves and going for their dreams. Through coaching and teaching the necessary skills and steps to success, I help them to achieve their goals – even things they did not believe were possible.
My heart’s desire has not changed – helping people to find their greatness, achieve freedom from their past and create the future they dream of – only the vehicle has changed.
